Shutting her down.

I am not going to blog here anymore. I am not moving forward with my running. I am looking for other avenues that I have talked about before on this blog.

I am not going to be recording my #500in2010 here either unless I start walking. I am not really loving that idea. So...

Not much to report, except that my weight is climbing back up the ladder. And I am not exercising really at all. I am eating too much. and not getting enough sleep. My knee still bothers me.

I would say that I am a lump on a log right now. Something has to change for the better! I am going to go to Zumba again tomorrow. I need to MOVE!

Wed thru Sunday.

I didn't run at all. I think my knee is feeling pretty good. Last Tuesday I tried out Zumba. It was a great class. I hope to try it again this week. And maybe a run to see how the knee is doing.

I only did my walks back and forth to school for the balance of the week.

2 walks back and forth to school x 3 = 6 km

Plus the walking we did at the wedding I shot on Saturday. I figure I walked a couple of km's. = 2 km

Didn't run on Sunday either. I also worked on Sunday! Crazy work weekend! All worth it however!!

8 km = 5 miles. I guess the little walks count. Not exactly what I pictured for this week. Pants are getting tighter. Pants are getting tighter. Face is getting rounder.

Sunday! - A change is as good as a rest!

I had a great day with my husband today. Burnaby, to North Van, to West Van. Up Grouse Mountain. They call it the Peak of Vancouver. It is breathtaking!! Saw the Cleveland Dam in Vancouver. Went to Deep cove. Busy busy. It was rainy, then sunny. And, up on the top of Grouse it was 4 degrees and SNOWING. We got back down, and sunny. Got to love Vancouver!

We did a lot of walking today. We also saw three timber wolves in a habitat at the base of Grouse Mountain. I think we live in such a beautiful place. I also saw Paul Plakas on the Grouse Tram. My husband spotted him on there. He is the kick ass fitness trainer on the network Slice. He must have been filming up there as he was with a crew.

It was a good day! No runs today.

Just walking today. We figure about 3 km of walking. Most delightful scenery. And the best honey donuts you have ever tasted! Sometimes you just have to splurge.

Last night we were watching the Housewives of Altanta. One of them used the phrase... "You need to get skinny vision." I liked that. LOL.

I haven't done much. Just my walks, and I can feel my jeans getting tighter by the second. Ugggh.

I will most likely not be running tomorrow as I have some wedding scouting to do! I hope to run on Wednesday, try the 4 hills and hope for the best. Not the kind of week I was hoping for at all. I am really disappointed.

I will not give up. Even if I cannot run, I have a plan B. But it will not add up the miles. However, it could be a lot of fun. Pole Dancing for fitness, and Zumba classes are on the horizon!

I am also seeking out a life coach. I think it is time to break through the barriers!

Well, today was a hard day to motivate myself to get out there to run. I missed last night, and of course when it was time to get ready I didn't want to. I procrastinated. My husband put on my socks as I layed there on the ground. Just laying there. I didn't want to go run. However I FORCED myself to get up and get going. I am glad I did. The run wasn't that great. However, good enough.

I didn't run last night. I was mentally and physically exhausted. So, I went out for a burger and onion rings with my hubby. Then I had tea and cookies at my parents house. It was the right way to do the evening. I hardly ever take a break. However, yesterday I just felt plain worn out. So, I stayed home, cuddled with my littlest babe. And painted 50 toenails in a bright pink. Perfect. Just what I needed, and so did my girls. I also took my son to the ortho yesterday (and his friend Jen) and then I took him for a haircut, and for new socks. Whew.

Today, I feel much stronger. I cannot wait to get out there and run! Sunday, I have a 20k coming up!

Wow. I haven't been a very good blogger this week! I have been a busy bee thus no time to blog!

Friday, two days ago. Walked two and from school 2x's = 2 km

Saturday an adventure out with the family, and a walk around a lagoon. And then some = 1.5 km

Sunday, today. I have been very active.

19.16 km run this morning, and I was out shooting an engagement session and we walked round for 2 hours. On the beach, on the sand. Up some stairs, along train tracks. 5 km of walking, so my total k's for Sunday is 24.16 km (19.6 + 5 km)

Back from a cold and windy 6.75 km run plus two walks back and forth to school. 2 km + a windy garbage pick up all over our street (.5 km). I picked up two bags of flying garbage. Yuck. (a neighbour garbage can blew over, and all the contents)

Easter Sunday = AWESOME Day!

Didn't get much sleep last night. Got to bed at 12:30 p.m. only to be awoken around 3 I think. A pee accident in a bed. So, kind of disruptive. Up at 7:30 for a long run. I also ate a lot more than normal last night (dinner with friends) and had two glasses of wine. Over a period of many hours. I also drank tea. So, I though with this combo, maybe not the best for a longer than my usual normal Sunday long run.

I had decided I would run 18 km this morning. I have been training hard. I was ready! I have had no pain. I was more afraid of maybe feeling pain again. That awful pain that might take me out of running again. That has had me scared of trying anything more than my usual 13 km. That was my furthest distance in the last month or so. So, today I worked harder. To try to go the distance again. I am tired of feeling fearful of this. Letting fear hold me back from doing something that completes me. I see ALL sorts of body types out there running further, and faster than me. There are also those who run a lot slower than me. So, I believe this is all a matter of mind over matter. Not listening to those who say maybe you shouldn't. Maybe you should do less. Maybe the timing is not right.

So, as I said I decided today was the day this was going to change for me. I am READY. Today I more than proved this to myself. I ran over 19 km this morning. I ran with one of the 'turtles' from my marathon clinic. Jean. I LOVED the run today. Amazing weather, amazing friends. I did it, and not only did I do it. I did it WELL! Finishing strong, upright and a smile on my face. My salty face! (need better nutrition next week!)

So, here i go. I have made the decision to move forward, and to learn from my past mistakes and try out a different approach to running. And today, I did it! I haven't run an 18/19 km since my marathon training! This is HUGE progress. This is amazing! This is awesome.

I have missed these long runs. They make me feel like a runner! I have missed that feeling!

I cannot wait until next week! I am doing it again! Thank you Jean for the best run ever! xo

Sunday Summary

Oh my goodness. I think this rainy run goes down as the WETTEST run EVER. It was also a most amazing run for me. I felt amazing, unlike the three runs during the week. I also had gels this morning. One pre run, and one about half way through my run.

I think it was the extra food I ate over the weekend. I think I am too hungry most of the time. So, I will see how it goes this week.

I am thankful to Steve, who gave me his warm jacket, and bought me a latte at Starbucks. That, is the best part of running, enjoying the fun and talk with my running friends. We laugh. A LOT. I am happy to be a part of such a wonderful and supportive group! Love them all.

Friday Night Run

Well, that run wasn't that great. The last couple have runs have been a bit of a struggle. I think it is lack of sleep, the busy pace of my life and eating a bit different, and probably not enough of the good stuff.

Wednesday Run

OK, I got out for a run today. I am tired today, as I haven't slept a whole lot in the last few nights. Last night I slept about 3 hours I think.

I had to push myself out the door. I had to make the decision to put on my run gear and go. I could have easily stayed home and worked. However, I didn't. I don't want to do that to myself. I deserve the time to run! I deserve a bit of time to work on myself. So, I did it, and after I was done I was happy about it!

I was at a photography conference for three days and I did a lot of walking. No running. So, I will count the trips I made from the parkade, into the hotel, and back out.

I also haven't been on the scale for a long time as my period came and went and I seem to bloat up quite a bit, so I get discouraged. So, tonight I decided to face my truth. And the truth was 173.0 on the nose. So, I guess I am SLOWLY making progress.

Walks from Sunday evening, Monday and Tuesday = 3 km

My walks to and from school today = 2 km

Run tonight on Wednesday evening = 5.48 km

So total km's from Sunday evening until tonight, Wednesday = 10.48 km

A finishing photo

I was on a mission to get under 60 minutes, as I posted in my last post I was able to do that!

Here is a little blurb about my clinic that starts tonight! I cannot wait to get started, and of course my goal is to lose some more weight of course, and to kick my PB time for this race! My PB was in June 2008. I ran a 10 km in 56:34 and placed third in the women's category. I know I can do this again!! I need to knock about 3 minutes from my time. (well just over 2.77!)

Darlene’s 10k Run: This clinic is designed for those comfortable with 6k distance. It will start with Run 10mins, Walk 1 min for the First 2 weeks then steady running during the week and 10’s and 1’s on the Sunday Run. This Clinic builds to 13k over 11 weeks.

just call me slacker cath!

OK, can this be any more of a bad angle here?! LOL

I got roped into helping with the warm up. I was having too much fun as you can tell!

Having too much fun it looks like! My friend and running instructor from the 10 km clinic Darlene on my right and Pat in red on my left.

I am here. I really am. After my harsh run on Saturday, and and another run on the Sunday my body was beat UP! So, I took the last few days off. I ran tonight, and of course I walked to school with the kids a couple of times. All of which I will record here today.

I also have my heavy awful cycle which makes running a challenge on the heavy days. I am also all bloated, and really haven't been eating the best. So, I ran tonight. I MADE myself run tonight. I ran 6 km. It felt hard. I am worn out. That time change, and all of my busy of my life is catching up to me! I need to take it down a notch and get some good rest!

This evening I registered for the 10 km clinic again. I am going to beat my time of 59:10.9 (Saturday's race) which I thought I would do way better, however the hills were killer. I don't think I will run that one again. At the 6 km I was just at 30 minutes. And then the hills started and that is where I lost the time.

I placed 38th out of 110 runners and eighth in my category.

So, with a positive mind, I will run a WAY better time in May for my next goal race. Secretly I want to beat my PB. SO, we will see about that closer to the goal race. I am just happy I did sub 60, so I guess I achieved that goal.

Saturday Race

Well, that was a crazy 10 km race today! I am not sure of my official time (still waiting on the results) but I do know I ran a sub 60 minute race today. I am curious to see how I placed.

There were CRAZY steep hills on the course, and so that was challenging! I had to walk up some of the hills. SOOOO steep! The good thing about hills, what goes up, must come down! I could cruise downhill.

Sunday Run - 13 km

Wearing my lucky shirt, and waterbelt today! What a difference of losing almost 20 pounds makes, in both clothing, and just running!

Went out for 13 km run with my group. My longest run to date since after my injury. I felt great!!! We conquered a very long uphill. I was SO glad to see the top of it! The rest was beautiful. Also, I wore my new runners. Awesome!

My lucky shirt fits again (a bit snug) and my water belt that I love fits again! I am super happy about that!

I also weighed myself this morning, and yesterday morning and I have dropped some pounds which is also a bonus! I am weighing in today, instead of tomorrow morning. I am always a lot more hungry on Sundays after the longer runs :D

This week is my last week of this ten clinic. I am not sure where to go from here. I will be making some running goals/decisions this week. Saturday is my 10 km race. I hope to do it in under 1 hour. I don't think I will beat my pb. I am OK with this. I am just happy to RUN!

Friday and Saturday

There have been troubles with blogger for the last couple of days for me! I am still here!

I haven't run since Wednesday night. I have been fighting a cold, and sore throat. So, I loaded up on the Oil of Oregano and so far so good. I also chose not to run. Thought I would conserve my energy.

However, I have still got my daily walking in.

Yesterday, back and forth to school. 2x = 2 km

And today, walking around the mall etc, running errands 2 km. I make it a point to park far away and get my exercise in!

So, for Friday and Saturday = 4 km or 2.48 miles

I am feel good today, after a good long sleep, and a bit of a sleep in I feel awesome. I am looking forward to my 13 km run tomorrow morning!

Next week, I am back on track!

P.S. I also bought jeans in size 11 (down one size) and I bought shirts in size medium. Obviously I am losing more on the top than the bottom. The bottom is always harder with all of my loose skin to tuck into my pants. I think I would be smaller on the bottom with a tummy tuck :D

Last night we had fast food. We ate Burger King. I loved eating it, but afterwards I felt really gross. And still do today. No more burger/fries/onion ring splurges anymore. Yuck. Not worth it.

So, today I stared to feel better when I walked back and forth to school. Did an extra little loop too, with my little girls.

Monday Weigh In

Isn't kind of a bummer when I ran over 27 miles this week (43+ km) and all I lost was .2 pounds?!

Oh well. I feel bloated, and figure it will go away this week. Maybe I will lose a couple of pounds?

My weight today (dropped into 175 yay!) 175.8 pounds. 30.8 pounds left to lose.

Well, anyways. I enjoyed this week. Had a treat or two.

This week, I am going to work ever harder! Watch out #500in2010!!

I didn't run last night. I had plans to run, but I chose to watch Olympic hockey instead, and of course watch the medal presentation (GOLD!) Once in a lifetime chance to watch on TV. I can always run more next week. It will be very boring without the Olympics to watch.

Hubby and I actually went out for a nice pasta dinner, and some wine. I ate the bread too. It was better than running :D

My pants are starting to get loose (my size 12's) and hopefully in another five-ish pounds I can be in size 10's again. That will feel good!

Tomorrow off for about an 11 km run with my group. I cannot wait. It was odd not running last night. However, time off is also needed once in awhile. I think it will make my run awesome tomorrow!

Looking forward to it, however I think it will be a raining one. Got to love our Westcoast weather!!

On my own Thursday

Tonight, as I was gearing up, I watch the Canadian Women's hockey team kick some serious A$$ and win GOLD for Canada.

Yesterday, Monday.

I am just catching up from a most busy pro-d day with the kids. And last night, we took the three big kids into DT Vancouver. So, did we walk a lot! We were out on our feet for three hours last night. We walked stairs, we walked steep hills and hardly any complaints from our 10, 8 and 7 year olds.

We pretty much walked what we did last week, except we went a bit longer and further. We just walked a bit slower!

It was a great night, and we were on Robson Street at the CTV booth when the Canadian Ice Dancing got their GOLD! The streets of Vancouver were ELECTRIC. It was amazing! I am going to be sad when the Olympics are over.

So, we walked 7 km yesterday. It was awesome!

Monday Weigh In

I weigh 176.0 on the nose.

I have lost 16 pounds since January 4th. That is 7 weeks, and about two pounds a week. Just right!

I have 31 pounds to lose. The same stupid pounds I lost two years ago. Except, this time I am taking more time to enjoy a treat here and there. Trying to make LASTING changes. And, so far I feel no deprivation. I wake up happy each morning knowing I am working towards an attainable goal.

Next weekend, I have my own boudoir session! Eeep. That will help me get my miles in this week! **session has been rescheduled now until April. Bummer.

And to keep doing what I am doing!

Run Monday

This #500in2010 is really inspiring me to become active again. In my head I see the number climbing, and it makes me happy. I should be in the 100 mile mark tomorrow. I am a quarter mile short! Thank you to Laura and Erin for this challenge. Today I did an extra run to 'Virtual Insanity' by Jamiroquai thinking of Laura. It was good!

So, because it is Valentines Day, and I am heading out to get a special dinner or something somewhere with my honey. I have decided to weigh in a day early. I of course, usually do it tomorrow (Monday). But heck, I will do it today instead. I want to enjoy, and not be a slave to the scale.

Friday - Another run in the rain

Well! The Olympic Opening Ceremony is on right now, I was really enjoying it, however got my run gear on and met a favourite group and went for a 5k run in the rain and the wind!

I am glad I went! Tomorrow, no running. I have an important shoot tomorrow, and a lot of other errands to do tomorrow.

Wednesday - 4 hills

Tonight we did four hills in the rain.

We run there, run our four hills, and then run back. I was tired on my fourth hill. Just like last week, I was tired on my third hill. Two more weeks of hill training! We go up to six hills for the 10K clinic.

I am feeling bloated, I guess my cycle is trying to make its way again. Yuck.

Oh well! I am just glad I can run again!

Tuesday - Run Night x 2

Hello Tuesday!

This #500in2010 is making me work a lot harder. I am motivated to move into the top ten again. I was there once I think, maybe 2 x's until I fell, and then fell again. And of course had that puke bug. So, I have had some obstacles to move around, and of course didn't get the k's/miles that I wanted. And, of course to see my parent units way up there in second place, makes the competitor in me come out. Yes, I like to compete. Mostly against myself. So, today I decide to RAMP up my GAME. I am not going to put my whole plan on here (because of spying eyes i.e. my parents LOL) so I actually sat down and devised a plan.

That is all I am going to say tonight. Physically I am feeling very strong. I am losing that dreaded extra weight and my runs have been going great. And, I am walking back and forth to school quite often. It all adds up. This I know.

So, there I go. A plan.

10k Sunday!

So, I managed to run for 10K pain free. That my friend, is progress. I couldn't be any happier. And to run with two amazing women, extra bonus! Thank you Louise and Kristina! It was great to run into the double digit kms today! I fee great! Thank goodness.

I feel I am getting back into shape (muscle memory!) and my body is changing again. I couldn't be happier. My size 12's are getting baggy. I am having my own boudoir session shot at the end of February, so good timing :D

So, for todays 10k. I LOVED the particular route! I haven't done it for quite some time! Nice.

From Sick to Sweet!

Tonight I felt good enough to run with my group. So I did. It is that darn #500in2010 that made me do it!

Yesterday, I got what the rest of the family got. It wasn't too much fun. Puking is no fun. Yuck. I had to have Cliff come home from work early so I could just rest. I stayed on the couch all day, and slept a lot.

This morning I am feeling a bit better. Not a whole lot of energy, and sad that I couldn't run. But before I started feeling sick, I actually did my morning video.

I think at the end of the six weeks, I will do one EXTRA week to make up for the missed exercise sessions.

Had 4 glasses of water, and now a bowl of oatmeal and blueberries. I also walked to school. #500in2010 - 1km or .5 mile. I am hoping I can run tonight!? I will play that thought out later.

Well, the hard work paid off. After last week only losing .2 was pretty discouraging. However, today I am happy to report I lost THREE pounds this week.

It is has been a crazy weekend. So many of our kids are throwing up. I was up on the couch until 5 a.m. And then out the door at 8 to go for my long Sunday run.

Friday Night

Well, it is Friday already! This week was slow, yet fast.

I am feeling my sides, and muscles in places I didn't think I had muscles. I did my second day of the BIU- SIS DVD. Oh wow. I feel myself getting stronger. That feels GOOD! That DVD was 1 hour.

Eating was good too. Last night we went to White Spot. I ordered the garden burger, easy on the ranch. And sweet potato fries. I had half of the burger, and about 10 fries in the dip (very light) and I was stuffed. I packed it up, and Cliff had my leftovers for lunch today.

I have been taking my vitamins, drinking all of my water. I can tell my stomach is shrinking. I like it!

Tonight, I met some of my old group that is now in the 5K group. We ran together and it was nice. Perfect night for a run!

And I'm feeling good!

OK, you know those jeans that just don't fit right. But they did say 10 pounds ago. Since having all of these kids, and they have stretched my stomach/hip area out quite well. So, I have a lot of loose skin to shove into my pants. It is not pretty. (Saving for a tummy tuck too, after my veins are done in my legs this winter)

Well, my other two pairs of jeans are in the wash (I have been living in workout gear lately!) So, I grabbed my size 12's light blue denim of the hanger. And, I held them up to my body and thought, these are going to fit again. And voila. They are on. And they are comfortable again. And, I am wearing a purple shirt that was feeling too tight (size large) and it fits SO much better. Wow. Change. Feels. GOOD.

I know I am not a supermodel, but today I feel like one! I am so pleased that my hard work is starting to take effect. I looked through my closet after my shower and looked at my jeans. Most of them are size eights, there are a pair of size six, and a size five. I know that in the spring these are all going to fit. And I cannot wait for that! I am so excited. Like I have said before, nothing tastes as good as thin feels. These little moments make the hard work feel like I am reaching a goal again. It feels good!

I also tried on my small pink hoodie, and I can actually zip it up. 10 weeks ago, I could hardly put it on! It of course looks like I am stuffed into a sausage casing today LOL. So, not wearable, but hey it is step in the right direction! My running jacket too. I tried it on this morning and I can now zip it, and it can fit on my hips/stomach but of course, sausage casing! I am *this* close to being able to wear my size M running shirt. Oh how I have missed you running shirts!! I have my eye on some running gear that is for sure. I will reward myself with a new spring/summer running gear.

I cannot wait! Now that my period is almost over for this week, I think I will see that reflected on the scale on my Monday weigh in. Woot!

This morning I did an hour DVD called BURN IT UP. OMG. It was tough, and I was sweating like crazy! I am sore right now. However, I did it and I LOVED it. Less than three weeks to go!

Tomorrow I will try to fit a run into my schedule.

Hump Day - Week Three, Day Three & a Run

Today was a good day, and a bad day. Sick child in the house, a lot of puke. But manageable. My day was so much better than yesterday. I am tired, yes. But happier for sure.

It had to be my decision with regards to running. No pressure. Max 15k. And suddenly all feels right in my world again. I have no rush to run a half or try for the full. I KNOW I can do it.

So, today I did BIU, for 48 minutes (between puke clean up--really!) and laundry. Lots of laundry.

And, a good run tonight as well, and it was nice to run with my friend Louise. It is nice to have friends with fitness goals I must say! It is nice to run and chat about our lives. The runs go a lot quicker that is for sure!

Week Three - Day Two and a Run!

Ah, the good old days :D (Well, June 2008)
10k, 3rd place in my category. 56:34 (PB for me)

Well, today was one of THOSE days. Yup. A not so nice day, but was better when my cousin popped over with a coffee and a scone for me. And a good hug. And a talk, and suddenly life felt better!

I did my SIS, RIU DVD of 48 minutes, and I can totally feel myself getting stronger which feels great. I also switched into the 10K clinic. And tonight was my first run with the group and it was GREAT. It felt right, and I was right where I wanted to be.

Today, was a good calorie burning day. Last night was our splurge night (nachos, and they were very good) which we give ourselves once a week. Highly enjoyed it. Got really full fast!

I have only eight weeks until our goal race in March. I plan on taking off 2 pounds per week, and hope to run that race 16 pounds lighter. That would make me, 168 pounds. That would be a good start! And of course, I want to beat my 10K time (56:34-Run for Remembrance)

Week 3 - Monday Weigh In

Well, after almost 7 days of spotting, my cycle/period kicked in today. How annoying is that?!

I am only .2 down in weight as I am bloated. I think next week by Monday more should roll off my body! (YES PLEASE!) I weighed a 183.8 this morning. Hard to swallow when I worked so VERY hard this whole week. Oh well, blame the horrormones.

It was a lot easier to lose weight the first time (after Coco, and breastfeeding) these periods are brutal! Yuck. I have noticed night sweats, and tired. Maybe I am in perimenopause?! I am 38, heading to 39. Not sure.

So, this cycle was 33 days apart, and the month before 27 days apart. Still 'normal' but really annoying.

Enough about that.

So, I did my slim in six, week three, day 1 this morning. I LOVE it! I am feeling a lot stronger already! I cannot wait to see what happens with my body shape in the next three weeks. My running clothes are getting looser! That is good!

Tomorrow, I jump down to the 10k clinic, and I am excited about it! I am so thankful to be able to run!

Chilly Chase 2010 - 5K race this morning

Here is me nearing the finishing chute. Not very attractive, and I felt very winded. But hey, I did it. I can see from these images where I have to take off the weight. I don't like how I look at ALL. However, I know I am working on this.

Well, I did it! So did a lot of my friends, and first time race runners! It is so exciting to watch first time racers finish a race! For many of our clinic participants in the LTR, this was their very first experience! I totally remember that very first time and how exciting is was!

This is my very first race this year of course, and my last race was actually the Chilly Chase 2009, when I ran the 15k. I find it amazing at how fast life can change in a year! Last year, in the shape of my life, this year coming off an injury, and then my stupid fall in the garage yesterday.

However, I am pleased that I managed to complete the 5k pain FREE!! This is a miracle in itself. It felt great to run! Fun to hang out with my friends. Nice to have Cliff and Courtney there to cheer me on!

Tomorrow::Race Day

So, I went to my physio and I am OK. I can certainly run the 5k tomorrow. I feel so down because last year I could easily run 15k. So, it will be weird to ONLY run the 5, but atleast I am out there running right! That is the goal.

After a good chat with Dr. Leif I have decided to hold off any distances over 15K for the next two years. I am going to wait until all six of my kids are in full day school. I will be almost 41 in two years. Well, in my early 40's I will be in a new racing category (bonus!) and I will have the daytime to train and I will obviously get more sleep and have more energy. This is also important. It is just that I am so GOAL driven. So, I will strive to improve my 5, 10 and 15k times.

I will run half marathons and my first full in my 40's. I am good with that decision no more pressure. I would rather run, than be disappointed if I were to get injured again. So, I moved down from the half clinic, to the 10k gradual build (which goes up to 13k) PERFECT.

Today, I did something stupid...I fell down two garage steps and rolled on my foot/ankle. All is OK. I just need to ice.

So, that is that. I switched clinics, I am still working out to my strength DVD's 6x a week (Dr. approved this for me!) and my 10K training. Now, I wonder what my goal race is?

I am still here. I have been eating right, and doing my daily tape. Tomorrow will finish up week 2! Four more to go.

My knee is still a bit sore. Off to physio I go tomorrow. Get a check up! I am hoping my 5k race will be good to go on Sunday. If not, I am going to go check out boxing on Monday.

I will not run tonight either. Just want it to feel good!

So, there is my update. Oh, and I am back into my jeans (my smaller--bigger jeans) feels good! So, I must be doing something right!

As for #500in2010. Not a good week that way. I think so far I am only at 3k.

Week 2 - Wednesday

Yesterday, I did my workout. I walked 2 k, and the day before (yesterday) 1 k. I sat down, and when I got up my knee (THE knee) that knocked me out of exercise for 7 months hurt. So, needless to say I felt angry. I iced my knee and I rested it.

I also made an appointment with my physio. See him on Sat.

Today it feels normal. So?! I am not sure now.

I wanted to run last night, and was sad that I could not run. Oh, and my period is on its way today. Grrhhh. After having six kids, the cycle I get is not fun. Well, it never was but it is nasty now. :D

So, all in all I hope today is a good day. I will MAKE it a good day. I am going to try my DVD this morning and of course I am supposed to run for the next three evenings. And, my 5k race is on Sunday. So *fingers crossed*

If my knee continues to hurt, I will drop back in clinics, or maybe stop running again. Not worth it. I am thinking boxing might be what I do next. If my plan does not work...

Week 2 - Monday Weigh In

Well, all of that hard work paid off (and I even slipped in a piece of cake--very small slice) this week.

I am down eight pounds! And that leaves 39 pounds to go to goal of 145.

I worked hard, and MADE/FORCED my self to MOVE seven days this week. I will continue that trend this week as well.

I have my whole week planned out, and I am sitting here in my workout gear. When do I work out? During the day as soon as I get back from dropping off my my big kids to school. That leaves only two kids, and the house is pretty quiet. So, I fit it in where I can.

Usually I walk, but today is SOOOOO wet and dark that I will drive them.

I would LOVE to see my weight dip into the 170' s by next week. That is the plan!

Today, I will do my 48 minute RIU tape.

Day Seven - Day of Rest? Not.

Rest? Not really. I ran 8k this morning, and boy did I feel every extra pound jiggling and a blubbering. I felt SO beat down, but I completed it.

I wanted to quit, but I kept pushing. I survived. I hope today was just an 'off' kind of morning. I didn't eat before I ran (because we got home late after a dinner party) and so I felt a bit sick on my run. Hunger. Thirsty. Lead legs. I even had to take an extra walk break.

Yup. Fat and out of shape. Oooh how I don't love that feeling.

Last night was a great dinner out with friends. I skipped the appies, skipped any drinks. Drank lots of water. Ate a piece of homemade lasagna (made with low fat stuff) a half cup caesar salad (no bacon bits or parm) and I left the white sourdough with butter (my FAVE--I am the granddaughter of a baker) and I had a small sliver of homemade chocolate cake with a bit of icing. Delish. I kept drinking water. I didn't feel deprived. I was actually STUFFED! And, enjoyed beautiful company. Isn't that awesome!

We got to bed about 1, and this morning me alarm went off for my run. The whole house was asleep. It was hard to get up and out. So, I didn't get a whole lot of sleep. That is another problem. Lack of sleep for me.

So, that is my day so far! Today we are off to a celebrate a baptism of a sweet little boy Evan. My cousin's second son. So, more food issues to deal with. But hey, food is a fact of life right. Have to find the right balance.

Day Six - Workout done and weekend challenges

Well, my workout is done. My kids like to workout with me. On and off I had Cameron (doing crunches and push ups with me.) Catie and Caroline did a bit of the cardio. I just smile when they do this! They get so excited to do it with me. LOVE it. Today, I was actually able to do the whole DVD which felt great, because on Tuesday, not so good. I am feeling way stronger, and I think I am starting to feel my abs underneath all of this blubber.

Today is day six of my plan. I of course started on Monday. I have always had success starting at the beginning of the year, because it is a fresh new year. I love having a clean slate.

Whenever the food calls my name, I just say to it. You are just *blank* you don't control me. So far it just works!

I have stayed at my calorie level of around 1300-1500 per day. It is working! I record EVERTHING I eat at and it allows me to chart my water with a click of a button. And, also add in my exercise (which allows me to eat more if I wish!--LOVE that) I totally think this helps!

For weekend challenges, it is that going over to a friends house to eat, and tomorrow a baptism. So, food of course maybe not the best choices. I will give myself a bit, but realizing I am weighing in on Monday morning. That should keep me from cheating. I don't really cheat. I like being on this plan.

Last night I had Subway (a six inch, with a bag of baked lays and 1 square of dark chocolate) and it felt like a cheat. And, I was actually going to have a few cookies but I was too FULL! Crazy how the stomach shrinks down so quickly!

I was watching Dr. Oz last night on TV. Talking about waist management. Not weight management. He just makes so much sense, and light bulbs just click when I read his book, or watch him on TV. His program, that Cliff and I used two years back when I lost the weight, well I still use ideas from then. And they work! They really do. I still eat a small turkey roll up with fresh salsa for lunch. Or, a handful of nuts before a meal. And, I eat the same breakfast everyday. This time, 1/3 cup of oatmeal and half a cup of frozen blueberries. SOOO satisfying, and filling. AND healthy. And then food is just for eating. No fuss, no obsessing.

I realize this has to be for life, and not just a fad. So just like Dr. Oz said last have to wake up EXCITED about your eating/your plan. If not, you are bound to fail. I couldn't agree more.

The eating is a no brainer, leaving time to do the things you REALLY need to do. Like exercise daily. Did I tell you how much I love to exercise?

And, when eating well, EVERYTHING tastes so much better. Life just feels better!

Friday - Day Five

Well, it is Friday! I have survived five days so far. Feeling really good, and confident!

Drank all of my water, ate really well. Stayed within my calorie range.

Did my 47 minute RIU DVD this morning with two of my kids. Tonight, I ran. Finally back at 10/1's! Mentally I am BACK! Feel like a runner again, even though my body doesn't look very much like one LOL.

Day Four

Today was a good day. I felt less sore, and I feel way less hungry. When I eat, I get full really quickly. Tonight, I am not as crazy for night eating. I like this healthy eating. Everything tastes better, and I have WAY more energy!

Today, I did the 50 minute tape, RAMP it UP. And tonight I started my half marathon clinic. It was awesome!

So nice to be back there with old friends! Tomorrow, second to last clinic night for the LTR. FINALLY 10/1's! Yay!!

Day Two - Start it Up (again)

So today, I did the basic 25 minute tape SIU. On my running days-3x's per week I will do the SIU. Sunday will be my day off from the DVD's.

Feeling great, and eating is right on. Drank lots of water. All good.

I still miss night eating. I have been drinking red rooibos tea at night. It is OK, but it is not a good as Subway, chocolate, cookies, wine, nachos. You know, the stuff I am not having any part of anymore.

If I want to be an athlete, I need to eat like an athlete right? I am OK with it, but it still takes some getting used to again.

I am also tracking my calories/water/exercise on "My Plate" I like it, it is easy and fast and keeps me in check. My fit and healthy friend Louise also gave me her eating program, so I have been starting to follow that. Eating well feels good. Eating crap does not.

So, my run:

Last time I will run 8 minutes and walk 1 minute. Tomorrow is a straight run of 3-4k and Friday is a LTR clinic night (They overlap a bit) and we move up to 10/1's! I have been waiting and working so hard to get there, and FRIDAY, we are there! Yay!

Day Two - Ramp it Up!

I did that today. I did RIU today, it was almost an hour, and boy am I feeling every muscle in my body! I also walked to school with the kids #500in2010 started! I am running Wed, Thurs, Friday and Sunday. I LOVE this feeling of activity. After being so down, and inactive this feels WONDERFUL. I feel like the old me, and full of energy.

Yesterday was difficult not to eat at night. It has been such a habit and a reward to me. So, I felt a little angry. But, I got over it. Today, I feel great and I feel myself getting healthier. I visualize myself in my size sixes again. How awesome that felt. That night eating is no good, and it has to go. Once in awhile this is OK, but for the most part, NO.

I will lose the weight, and I will keep it off. No more of this losing stuff again. It will be all about maintaining!

Day One - Start it Up!

Oh really. Day one? Yes. Day one. I am too tired to get out of bed at 5 to do my exercise DVD. Plan B, do it when the kids are in school and only two at home. Check. Done.

I did the Slim in Six 'Start it Up' DVD, and also the stretch DVD portion. It was hard, I was sweating. I am out of shape. I am happy to be working on me again.

I got on the scale this morning, and I was 192 pounds. Whatever. I knew it was bad, but hey I am working towards correcting that. Plus, I has my last splurge for quite some time. Thus, a bit more in weight I guess. So, I will go from 192 today, to 150/145 ish by May 2nd, 2010. That gives me a good solid plan. I am going hardcore again. Not giving up. Doing this.

So, Slim in Six (just press play 6 times a week, for six week) I am ready. I am doing this! I am really excited actually. I took my depressing 'before' photos on two camera phones, but not sure how to get them on here. So...those will have to wait. I also took most of my measurements as well.

And, this week I will be running on Wed 8/1's, Thursday a straight run of 2-5 k's for my half marathon clinic, and of course Friday which will be FINALLY 10/1's. I am so excited to be able to run for ten minutes again. Oh how I have missed running! And of course Sunday I will run with my new HM group. Love them already!!

So, I have 47 pounds to lose from my original weightloss of 90 pounds. Not so bad I guess, as I didn't do ANY exercise for 7+ months. So, today it changes. I change. I will knock those pounds away. Pound by pound. Step by step.

Happy New Year!

And it is a new year! Happy 2010. Time to do it again.

Yes, lose some of the weight again. I haven't officially been on my scale, but I would venture to say I have 40 pounds to lose AGAIN of the 90 I lost before. Plus a few more. I am going the whole WAY! I blame the weight on me, what I shoved in there. My injury. My downer eat everything I can to make it feel better. Nobody forced me. I did it. I will lose it again.

A bruise to the old ego, but hey. I have done it before, and before that. Thankfully running will get me back on track. I am almost finished my 10 week learn to run program. I have officially registered (this morning) for the half marathon clinic. A bit nervous, but I know I can do it. I will put trust in my body to get me through.

Today also marks 5 years of running with the RR. And so today my friend Louise (from the very first FWO clinic ran with me today too!) We have been friends for 5 years. I just love how wonderfully supportive she is, and has such a profound and happy effect in my life. She's a keeper! Love you Louise!! Thank you! xo

Tomorrow, like many of the other people in the world embark on their weightloss/fitness goals. I too will get started tomorrow. I plan on it! I did it before, I will do it this year too! I plan on an injury free year! Not running for over 7 months was challenging, and depressing for me.

Not this year, it is starting off with a bang! I am so excited about this year! As I get closer to 40, I know I want to be in the best shape of my life. I want to get so healthy and fit! I want muscles. So, I have a lot of work ahead of me.

I have been visualizing myself as the 'smaller' me. The healthier version of me. This current version has too much padding, and I don't like it one bit. It is true when 'they' say nothing tastes as good as being thin feels. I truly feel this is the truth.

And a hill too! I can feel that in my abs right now, and my legs. Running hills. Awesome (so I tell myself this right now) It will get better. It will get easier. With each pound I drop, the better I will feel. And the hills will get easier. Running with an extra 40 pounds up a hill=NOT fun.

I am hoping that on May 2nd, 2010. (My half marathon race date) that I will be back to 150 pounds (or less) and able to run my time of my first half marathon in Victoria, or *better* my fingers are crossed, and I am going to do everything in my power to get there! I still want to prove everybody wrong and run a marathon. Hopefully within the next two years. When I turn the big *40*

S0, today all the crappy crap food goes into the garbage. All of my good habits will start tomorrow, and I will not waver. I am doing this.

Time to go get showered, and buy some groceries.

I will be posting regularly again. I will take my before photos, and I will post my current weight, and body measurements. I have to be accountable, and this blog is the place to do it.

I totally HATE the way I look and feel. I do not like this padded version of my formerly fit self. I have let myself down, and I want to be a positive role model to my family. I cannot wait to do it!
